Name: (Something that should make kids want even more than they get… even though these are awesome…and has a classic or familiar reference) Possibly: “Fire Droids!” (Things “fire” at each other but no REAL fire)
Marketing slogan: “A call to Arms!”
Armor: Possibly one larger target area with symbols on the circular target face…and probably have them slightly facing up…so it’s easier for kids? (Again for more familiarity & marketing). Oh, and The bad guy obviously Dark colors throughout and good guy like chrome…or a light gun metal

With the whole good/evil characters you can refer to them as light walkers/shadow walkers.
