Actually, the original (by Gotye) was number 1 in Australia for several weeks and the single and album were number 1 for ages, its all over the pop radio stations like a rash
I had never heard of this band before, so thanks for posting the clip! I’ve checked out some of the other songs they have on YouTube and now I’m a fan. (And for the people above who liked the blonde girl, she has some solo and duet clips on YouTube.)
Really terrific! I also checked out some of their other songs, am now a fan, bought this song and passed the YouTube link on to others. C’mon guys, get your Website up and running!!!!
Jesus how can people fall for this. They are with most certainty, probably NOT performing this live in front of the camera. The audio quality is just TOO GOOD. No compressor and active microphones in the world could fine tune the levels that perfect. Especially the singing gives it away, but also the (amazing) bottom and treble on the guitar.
Fair enough, the have recorded all the parts seperetaly, and learned how to make it look like they are playing it live.
Is that guy in the middle 331Erock?!? (Read: the GOD of “metalizing” songs)
I thought it was Trent Reznor.
sadly great music like this will never get the nod of mainstream media, i really hope they keep up their talent its an honor getting to listen to it
WTF? This is all over mainstream media in Australia, where the original artist of this song, Gotye, is from.
Didn’t goyte win an aria for it?
It’s the most popular song of 2011 in Belgium. Yay for awesome music in Belgium.
PS the original artist is called “Gotye”
Wow, you should get your facts straight. The original of this song by Gotye is actually a pretty big mainstream hit. Check out the charts all over the world at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somebody_That_I_Used_to_Know#Charts

The original song itself (by Gotye) is on high rotation on most mainstream stations in Australia – but I adore this version too.
dude, this song was originally by gotye. he is huge in australia.
They did an amazing job on this, thank you for sharing guys!
makes me happy that this is a local band…(Burlington, Ontario, Canada)
People are totally weird and awesome at stuff. Pretty awesome.
Gotye- Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)
Yay
Nice cover, very talented but the guy in the middle screaming “SUMBUHDEHH” ruined it for me.
What an awesome cover of this song!! Thumbs up and a definite WIN!
the guy on the right is not amused
Besides the great music, the man-bear on the right is totally doable…
Yep.
Awesome music. The stuff on their YouTube is superb, as well.
They must be fond of each other!
Definitely a WIN!
I’m loving that blonde girl.
The guy on the very right, he makes me think of Chuck Norris…
And the blonde girl is very hot.
I was thinking Billy Mays. Or perhaps George Clooney in a Billy Mays costume.
I wasd thinking Vinnie from Orange County Choppers.
The Gotye original is AMAZING, but this is the best cover I’ve ever heard!!
They also do a cover of Karma Police … that is one track that shouldn’t be touched …
Hot Blonde is Hot!

That guy on the far right is a proper badass. Very good stuff.
I heard this song on radio while driving to work this morning. So could this be called the ‘music video’? Good stuff.

Still cool though.
You know, you’re right. I was convinced by the bass line – he’s playing a different rhythm than the one recorded.
That guitar is such a tramp
