FAIL for the Poster, but a big WIN for parent !
Actually, a leading sociologist recently released a study showning an 87% overlap between the groups “people who like muppets” and “people who like ewoks,” higher than the overlap between any other 2 groups of well-known fuzzy/furry make-believe creatures in popular American culture. So, surprisingly, your opinions of muppets is very relevant to how you feel about ewoks.

I was about to say, I don’t see what the Fail is here: someone dressed their kid up as an Ewok. How is this a bad thing?
Good, I’m not the only who saw this and immediately noticed that it’s an Ewok, and more specifically, it’s Wicket, the first one to find Leia after she crashed.
This is NOT a Muppet! This is an Ewok from the planet of Endor! Gosh…
Technically Ewoks are from the Sanctuary Moon of Endor, not Endor itself.

Well, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop did make a lot of the creatures in Star Wars (don’t know exactly which ones) so it is possible that Ewoks are technically Muppets.
Muppets are a specific (and delightful) sub set of puppet. Ewoks were little people and children in costume. Ewoks are NOT Muppets.
Well, there were several muppets that were simply costumes and the Ewoks used Jim Henson’s creature shop animatronics… so, yes they were technically (I’d even venture to say a more advanced) muppet.

This is extremely dangerous. If I saw this kid it’s entirely possible that my deep seated rage toward Ewoks that’s been building in me since 1983 would manifest itself. There are many others like me. Please parents, keep your children safe. Just say no to Ewoks.

Ok- Jim Henson’s Creature Shop made 0% of the creatures in Star Wars- any of them. It’s confusing, especially when you see that photo of Jim Henson and Frank Oz showing Irvin Kershner and Stuart Freeborn a Skesis puppet. Yoda was built by people who knew people at JHCS, and some of them may have worked there on projects- but Yoda was built by Lucasfilm. Frank Oz puppeteered and voiced Yoda, but Yoda is not a Muppet, neither are the Ewoks. Heck, the Ewoks were costumes! Technically, a Muppet is any puppet that belongs to a certain group of characters, such as any puppet seen on the Muppet Show or Muppet movies. If you don’t believe me, check with a Disney lawyer! But when all is said and done, and as much as I hate Ewoks, a baby dressed up as an Ewok is the best kind of Ewok there could be- unless his costume was made from actual Ewok fur- then it’s even BETTER!
