Apparently a video game copied an ancient family crest of a Japanese clan, which among other things, spread Buddhism throughout Japan and had the first Shogun as a member. Therefore, any reference to said symbol is a “nerdgasm”.
Um, yeah, that’s not a tomb. That symbol isn’t a family crest–it’s a Buddhist symbol that appears a lot, especially in Japan. And I’m eighty percent sure that this is one of the places that you wash your hands/mouth at.
Yes, I know that it’s supposed to be Shintoism that has the hand washing and Buddhism with the symbols. I was taught that in class. It isn’t nearly as clear cut as they teach you it is.
…I know this post is going to get ignored, but I just finished my Japanese Studies senior thesis… And I haven’t slept enough in weeks.
My bad. I looked it up, and the origin of the symbol is indeed the Hojo family crest. I highly doubt that’s how it’s actually viewed in Japan, though; it’s primarily associated with Buddhism, in my experience.
I have no idea why this is a WIN.

Well, not only is it the triforce emblem, the stone object looks like a sword pedestal, so I think this is WIN-worthy.
Play Zelda’s Lullaby and you will discover!
It’s the Hojo clan’s family crest.
I’m glad I’m not the only one, jc. Unless there’s a smiley face, with the inner triangle as the mouth.
-10 internetz.
Yay Hojo clan?
oh my god
its the f*cking triforce
I know, people somehow think it’s cool to now know what LoZ is. well they are WWRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG
I second that!
look at the top, someone already took the master sword.
All I see is a droopy pee-pee at the three-o’clock position of that large triangle.
Paging Doctor Freud! Paging Doctor Freud!!
Those are waves
Oh man, you’re right.
Eureka! The resting place of the Master Sword has finally been uncovered.
FAKE & FAIL
)
lol nope
Look at Sam J’s comment at the top. Not fake. It’s just not really Zelda’s Triforce, but a traditional symbol of the Japanese city of Kamakura.
LoL, what happened to “fake and gay”?
This one is actually bi.
ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-!!!!!!
Not only is it that Hojo clan thing, but the, let’s say “Triforce”, is also an alchemical symbol.
I doubt the Hojo clan symbol would be complete without the clouds around the triangles, soooo….
Anyway, i’m totally getting the Triforce on my tomb stone… or urn, if i am cremated. Or maybe i’ll go hipster and get the Hylian Shield instead.
It’s hipster to have the Hylian Shield? T_T I have that belt buckle…f**k.
Not even a tomb. It says “offering” on it, and I believe it’s a hand washing station where you cleanse yourself before going up to pray.
yes, it’s where you wash your Hojos…
Fail.

Navi look! Time for Zelda’s Lubally!
