This is what my first Minecraft house looked like, but I’ve since moved to an underground fortress with a skull facade and stairs over a lava moat.
Oh yeah, and the doorbell plays the Mario theme.
This is why houses like these are off the grid. Solar collection batteries, wind power, people or animal power. Or “good, old fashioned” stash of fuel for the generators.
And, most importantly, protection from all of those Jehovahs! Seriously, when the roll-down door is down and windows blocked, it means we’re not interested.
Thanks, yonsje! That place is awesome! I love the draw bridge to the pool and the airy interior design.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s time to fire up the autocad and get to work on my own variation of this design.
This one is located near Warsaw – Poland’s Capital City. This is a house of a quite famous Polish director (who was in prison, and now is afraid of the revenge). Made by a quite famous Polish Architect – Robert Konieczny: http://www.kwkpromes.pl/
Instead of the big roller door, I would have a slab (like what protects the doors and windows) that covers the whole opening, that lowers into a slot the ground to open. It would be connected to counterweights in underground rooms, for neutral weight, and minimal energy required to open/close.
Perhaps keep the roller door, which may still be easier to close than a slab that size, the same way a lightweight “jail door” is used in bank vaults while the door is open.
And what will you do after your supplies will end? I dont think you will be able get so many ammunition to kill every zombie around, so they will pile up around your fortress. If you’ll bunker up, you’re doing to die from starvation eventually.
Great point. And not only that, but what happens when the power grids all shut down and you’re no longer able to roll that door down or flip the switch for those glass doors and windows?
Needs solar+wind power generation+storage, a well, and a roof-top greenhouse for the doomsday scenarios. After all, no matter how much food you store, it won’t be enough.
So what I’d like to see is how the power generation and greenhouse equipment are protected from nuclear blast.
I’m missing loopholes… or maybe automatic flamethrowers or something. Cuz what’s the purpose of locking yourself up when at the moment you’re out the zombies are still waiting… you better shoot or burn them all from the safety of your home until you’re sure you can go out safely. Instead of locking yourself up and be surprised when you eventually open shop…
This just needs a bunker/underground passage and mission complete.
Bring it on, apocalypse… Bring it on.
This looks like it could be an office. If so, that is what you call high security.
a good place to hide from the Chinese takeover
* a good place to hide from the Chinese takeout.
FTFY.
I WANT house like this!
This is awesome! Where is this located?
In Charlie Sheen’s backyard. It’s his treehouse
Someone plays Minecraft

For future survival, get yourself this kind of house!
Eh, that roll down door is a weakness.
I agree, the zombies will be through that in a matter of hours.
Actually, should the power ever go out for days due to a natural disaster, you would be in a tight spot.
This is why houses like these are off the grid. Solar collection batteries, wind power, people or animal power. Or “good, old fashioned” stash of fuel for the generators.
easy fix, install a ribbed titanium plate that is raised from below ground.
Useful in the middle of the hurricane season too!
More than protection from zombies and the apocalypse, although that is a very good use.
It also serves as protection against frequent tornadoes or hurricanes.
And, most importantly, protection from all of those Jehovahs! Seriously, when the roll-down door is down and windows blocked, it means we’re not interested.
^this
HE SAID JEHOVA!! -Lobs stones-
I love it
If Frank Lloyd Wright had made a career of the Army Engineers. . .
I love this house!
The plans. I want to see how it’s laid out inside. I must have the plans so I can build something like this!

Link to designers is included, you can find drawings and some floor plans on their site!

Must have. Someone send me the plans.

I like his hidden house project better… Come on now.. Bruce Wayne meets Tony Stark.
i seriously need 2 get me 1 of these. 2012 here i come! and even if nothing does happen, it’ll still look awesome
Panic House.

Also: “Zombie Fortress” sounds like a place where zombies hide out. “Zombie-proof Fortress” sounds more fitting.
+1
I’d just show the zombies my d@#$ , Zombies can’t handle my d@#$.
I would like to be there when you try just to see the look on your face when they bite it off. >=}
Yeah, that’s because its not very filling. **BURN** ^_^
But the filling is great..
does it protect you from aids?
i need that house…. i tend to be VERY paranoid. whoes gonna smash through the window and shoot me now?! hehehe…. =D
hang on… zombies eat brains…. ok let me rephrase my last scentence.
‘whoes gonna smash through the window and eat my brains now?!hehehe’
thats better…
awesome!
do want!
As neat as it looks, the more moving parts, the more than can malfunction, and the more maintenence needed. Not so great for zombie apocalypse.
It looks cool, but it needs more trees.

Eat the zombies. Duh.
Well you could always have an indoor/underground green house. The only thing wrong with that would be going vegetarian….. No more bacon
Get a helicopter pad or greenhouse for food on top and ur set
OMG I wants
This just screams “James Bond Villain House”.
Just needs little shutters for the machine guns / flame throwers to peek out of.
Well… maybe not: I don’t see the swell pool filled with hot bikini-clad ninja girls nor the one fille with pirhana/crocodiles/sharks… <_<
Dear Easter Bunny……Gimme House….instead of eggs.

Easy. They retract in the roof!
This is what you need to live in Atlanta.
Except for that whole opening up thing. That’s just inviting a home invasion.
actually looking at the surrounding views.. its just an ugly eyesore on the country side

I think i know where the Cullen’s live

Accidental thumbs down move my bad -1 thumbs down and add a thumbs up.
Reminds me of prison thingy in recent Doctor Who episode, “The Day of the Moon”.
if we don’t stop pissing each other off, this is what everyone’s house will look like. not my style
I want that house now.
