..*agrees w/Zombie*..they could even set up a kind of pay-it-forward plan where other customers (the employed ones, that is) assist in covering the costs..
..businesses like this Deserve to be frequented-!..
i’d bring all my cleaning there, and recommend it to all my friends. a place like that needs all the paying customers they can get…so they can keep up the good work
And if you are unemployed and your future boss only hires people who have their own apartment, I offer my address. If you give me 20 bucks when you get the job, I even offer professional psychological and interview coaching. If you don’t get the job, you owe me nothing.
I think everybody should do that. Why not?
It is Plaza Cleaners at 909 NW Everett in Portland, Oregon. But there are other cleaners offering the same deal (quick search found some in Mobile, AL and NYC).
This is unrelated except it involved cleaners and kindness:
I had a family friend pass away and was asked to be a pall bearer in my military uniform. I purchased a brand new set of dress blues and medals, etc but knew it would take some time and extra $$ to have it completed.
The cleaner I used was an Iraqi ex-pat. I was getting a quote from him when he asked what it was for and I told him. He waved his hand and told me to come back in the morning on my way in to the base.
One of his sons was there at 0600 and gave me my completed blues, with medals mounted and all alterations complete with dry cleaning…his dad stayed up all night and REFUSED payment.
I am not an emotional person but it was hard to express my thanks without my voice breaking. Needless to say when I spread the word to my shipmates EVERYONE started using him, even though it was a little farther to drive.
His respect and kindness paid dividends. I am still humbled by it.
Kudos to the owner
The image or video is not displayed. Anyone else with a real browser seeing the pic?
It’s a sign that says, “If you are unemployed and need an outfit clean for an interview, we will clean it for free.”
All you have to do is use Internet Explorer’s Compatability View!
Oh, wait, real browser.

どのような偉大な男、私はかなり彼は幸せな人生を持っていると思うよ。
What he said.
..handy-dandy Yahoo! Babel Fish has it as:
“Some kind of great man, as for me considerably as for him you think that it has happy life.”
..in rough Engrish translate: “cool dude! big-time!! hope you wish him happy days”..(or somesuch)..
Actually it was supposed to mean “What a great man – I think he has quite a happy life”. It’s poorly translated to japanese, though.
Google translate reads: “What a great man, but I think he’ll have quite a happy life.”
Anyway, it sure cheered me up~
Hehehe, that’s what I said. Oh yeah, Zero, Axl, Alia, Palette, and Layer say hi.
Hi Axl! Hi Axl! Where’s Axl!
I really wish that this image included the name of the establishment. Whoever this is deserves to have their name shouted from the rooftops.
It’s in NW Portland, OR on Everett street
Well, which one?
The one with that sign in the window?
OR stands for Oregon….
i’d bring all my cleaning there, and recommend it to all my friends. a place like that needs all the paying customers they can get…so they can keep up the good work
Which is probably partly WHY they do it.
You cynical smelly man.
Epic win! If I found this place I’d give them money to help with that
So sweet that a business would be so selfless in these hard times.
This restores my faith in humanity just a little bit.
Guess that means it’s time to go back to Failblog so I can have that faith destroyed again.
..yeah, don’t get all blissful there, Psilence..
Is this Psilence from DBPB?
That is really awesome. there are SOME good people left.
super nice win!
Um – why are there thumbs down on this post?
Because 13 people have one less excuse for not looking for work.

Plaza Cleaners, Portland, OR. Two locations.
This is how you help the economy.

I so knew that too, Makes me feel proud to be from Portland x3 except for the dirty hippies and scenekids…
..and all the human trafficking? It’s worse in Portland, OR, than anywhere else in the US.
I thought I recognized it! Yay, local win.
So awesome anyone know where this is?
I had to post this on the Dave Ramsey facebook site – that is something he would absolutely love!
may his/her business prosper
How awesome. Bless these people.
this is really hilarious..
Makes a refreshing change from the “I’ve got a gun” door bills…
It’s signs like this that help to restore my faith in humanity. What a thoughtful and beautiful gesture!
The walk. These folks walk it.
This is awesome. I like the owner of this cleaning shop. I’d start delivering my clothes there if I even was in the same continent.. :p
ya, i have like twenty interviews and some of them requested I go in pajamas and sweatpants . . . so, ya . . . totally out of work and all.
That’s awesome!
This is great and put a smile on my face

you can see it on street view! x
You can see it from ORBIT. Check it, highest zoom level before street view kicks in… you can clearly see the sign in the window.
Warms my heart to see kindness in this world of hatred
