As we can see, the person starts moving backwards too fast. The person has to be hit with a object(s) with a very big mass/speed. I’m surprised, that he didn’t get much injuries.
I’d move back too if I opened the door and saw a massive cannon. Albeit not fast enough, but I’d still try to move.

I’d go for “staged” that air guns have quite some power.
But as you can see there are paperboxes in the lower left corner of the video, what makes me think of “staged” very strong.

I have examined this frame by frame. If it is faked, it is extremely well done. He starts to move, which naturally causes a drop in stance. The hand is smoothly hold the door handle until after the blast. If its fakes, it was done very very well.

Actually, in the slow-mo, you can tell it’s obviously fake by the way he moves. He shrinks and blurs.

Definitely fake. That air blast is strong enough to send a grown person flying back, but not all those paper shreds, that calmly float down after the initial blast barely sends them beyond the door? Weak.
Agreed that it’s fake, but you have to factor in relative mass to surface area. I don’t think that’s paper, I think that those are packing peanuts. They don’t have a lot of mass, and the theoretical burst of air would only hit them once. Due to their large surface area, they would slow down incredibly fast. There are other things in this to point out as fake that are valid, such as the fact that the frame rate speeds up to make it look like he was thrown backwards. When it goes to the slow motion, you can see him jump back.
TL;DR still funny.
A blast that can throw a grown man back like that, would also cause massive internal bleeding and break quite a few ribs. So yeah, they just murdered him… or it’s a fake.

Definitely a fake. The particles of Styrofoam would be moving as fast as he is and they don’t quite get there as well he would have went through the lockers completely with the speed he was supposedly moving. But aside from that it’s absolutely hilarious.
Yes you can see that it’s fake, def when they do the slowmo. However, it doesn’t make it less awesome.

You can see the scientist on the far side of the door change position slightly where the film is spliced. Fake. It is only more pronounced in slow motion.

It’s fake because the White Box on the Middle shelf moves, the shadows in the door change, and the lighting of everything is brighter when they cut to the dummy. Look at 0:25. Nice try.

Hmm, I dunno. The shelving on the right rocks quite a bit, as does the over head light. As others point out, styrofoam peanuts aren’t going to have much speed anyway. Somebody says they cut in a dummy? Where? He gets up at the end and is never out of shot. I’m thinking, if it is at all “real”, he is not being blown backward by an airblast, but more jumping backward in reflex. Come on guys, you open a door and a cannon of ANY kind goes off, you just gonna stand their and grin with your finger up your nose?
I have a hard time believing that someone who just struck those lockers with so much force just crawled off right away… Those lockers really shook. Everything else looks believable to me though.

At 0:53 you can see a so called “jump cut”, the guy standing to the left, moves about an inch rapidly which indicates that this was done in two takes.
Silly me, I meant at around 0:10 seconds.

Doesn’t look very fake to me. All the physics going on with the objects in the environment look correct, from the stand on the right being held in place and then rocking back from the pressure wave, to the door getting blasted flat by the backwave. If the guy seems to be moving a hair too soon it’s about the correct timing for someone to realize “oh crap that’s a gu…” and start to move before it goes off. That’s a pretty hard impact on the lockers, and looks about right.
I guess because it’s on the internet it has to be fake though because everything on the internet is always fake. :p
You then are blind. Watch the video again at around 0:22, you can clearly see that a dummy was substituted. How can you tell? The head shrinks, the hands INSTANTLY vanish and the legs are mysteriously missing clothes.
The dudes that replied before me are right. It is fake, they changed the lab dude with a foam dude, one pranker is changing position. Any impact like that without protection will kill you. It’a a nice mix of special effects.

It’s not necessarily fake, you people just don’t like it when something funny and potentially dangerous happens completely on accident.
I thought it was hilarious whether or not it was acutally a fake. But just to make it clear… you can see that it was edited very well but the guy disappears and only his clothes are blown backwards, there is no way that air cannon could move the guy, only his clothes.

I don’t think it’s fake. I think what we’re seeing is someone getting hit with a plastic bag of styrofoam packing peanuts. looks like they may have gotten carried away with the pressure though.
all that thing is, is an air cannon shooting paper. A person that is at the end of the barrel wouldn’t do anything to them other then push him a foot or two. its harmless. If you don’t get what I mean, Watch myth busters when they tested the myth of a person being sucked into the tracks when the train gone by. they used an air cannon to “push” a test subject. they did it to figure out if a person can be pushed my air and by how much.
But the cannon was shooting a dummy, and no one was in front of that …during that video shot. whoever had shot the video, should have never have done the slow mo. with it, you can actually see the dummy being shot.

I personaly feel that this is a fake because he got up to quickly. seriously, try falling backwards onto the floor without controling it. you’re going to hit the back of your head and be rolling around in pain for a while and it can hurt other places as well. Now take that speed and multiply by three at least plus replace the padded carpeted floor with metal lockers.
