I like the little “neighborhood watch” sign. “If I see the White Witch, I’ll ring the bobbies straightaway.”

Go on, non-British people, try to pronounce Worcestershire. I promise you’ll be surprised.
I’m pretty sure that most of us know that it is pronounced wooster.
No, it’s pronounced NARNIA.
Me and everyone I know has always pronounced it war ster, and I live there
I would say ‘wusta-shur’ is close to how its actually said. I saw this with my own eyes, was a couple of months ago in a little village on the saltway between Droitwich and Redditch, cant remember its name. Anyone know who did it? It made my day.
I live in worcester
I live in Worcestershire (malvern)
Both Narnia and The Shire (from LOTR) are based in Malvern, and authors of both books lived there.
The authors lived in Oxfordshire… The Shire was based on the West Country.
wuh-sta-sheer
I remember when that first went up – i drive past it every day. Did not stay up too long. You can still see the remnants of the torn off hack!
