I agree on the lyrical change, but I figured the hack was put there by the tanning salon as a crack against people who use self-tanning lotions/creams and end up looking orange.
Hrm. The only problem with the tanning salon putting up the hack is that the might run into some copyright issues regarding oompa loompa depiction.
True, but until someone sent them an order to paint over it, they could always leave it up, saying they thought it was pretty funny.

I played an Oompa-Loompa in my high school’s production of Willy Wonka when I was a senior…
That is beautiful.
The only problem with this hack is that they botched it; The Oompa Loompas’ faces are supposed to be orange, not the shirt and hair.
A stencil was most probably used, and they used orange spray paint. No biggie.
I’m guessing its because they are worried about copyright infringement so they changed it to make it “their own”.
I’m guessing that doesn’t make any sense.
First that the change on colors isn’t enough to break through an artwork copyright.
And even if it was the case that a nobody in the middle of nowhere would be worried about infringing copyright of a major movie company, the company itself would not be worried. And even if they were (highly unlikely), such a work, when clearly labeled, classifies as Fair Use under the U.S. Copyright Act.
It’s as JAWS said. The stencil was made backwards, even because it’s much easier to make it that way.
If you leave a place orange and weren’t orange before, then yes, you should beware it
