Ah, the protest. As American as apple pie. From the time of the colonists, we’ve taken to the streets to show our displeasure for how things are run around here. But how effective would the Revolution have been if we’d shown up with signs declaring, “NO TEE TAX!”?
Yes. Yes we are having a crisis. Though I think we should be more worried about the competence of our government than its competnce. Then again, maybe competnce is merely biding its time.
Quick lesson in Politics 101. Socialism (n) – A system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state. In layman’s terms, Medicare is socialism since it’s controlled by the government. Sooo, you’re advocating socialism, but only for you. I see…
But without pubic options how will we secure future generations? I don’t think any amount of debate will get my husband on board with this. Maybe if we add the word “hair”?
Thanks to URLesque for these awesomely bad protest signs. Make sure to check out the rest of them!

Tea Baggers fail at life, not much can be done about it.
Nice collection! These type of signs are why I also love this blog:
http://moronswithsigns.blogspot.com/
Shouldn’t you be posting these on PunditKitchen? I thought this site was about humorous/sarcastic pictures, but none of these were even funny.
- Leaving out an “e” in competence because it wouldn’t fit is not funny.
- A picture isn’t funny if you have to type a paragraph under it to explain it
- I don’t even get where you’re going with the last one
Don’t ruin a perfectly good site with politics. People read these sites to get away from crap like this. These pictures are only funny to people who feel strongly about the health care debate and support it. The rest of us just find this annoying.
Someone’s got her right wing panties in a twist!
I bet you’d find this post hilarious if they were protesting the war in Iraq instead of universal health care.
You really don’t see what’s wrong with a “pubic option”? PUBIC? Ya know, like the hair? The hair on your body? The hair called pubic hair? Like “public” only without the L?
No? You don’t see it? Then I give up…
Exactly. We get it. You hate Conservatives and Christians. Good fer yoooo. Can you post something funny now? It’s bad enough this political crap is everywhere else all the time.
…Where do you get anything about hating Christians? Someone’s pretty quick to get offended, which ironic considering Christians are the ones who do most of the oppressing. Guilty conscience maybe?
And it’s definitely not hating on conservatives, it’s hating on stupidity. Not the OP’s fault that the majority of the former is also the latter.
Read the comments, see the sign about ‘teabagging for Jesus’ if you are confused about how there is Christian hate going on.
When was the last time someone was oppressed by a Christian? Were you ever denied work, service at a store or restaurant, or imprisoned by a Christian?
Nope. The Christians like that lady are busy being judgmental, self-righteous twits, but they are not oppressors, so can the hyperbole.
“The majority of the former is also the latter.”
Can you quantify this? No? Oh you just pulled it out? K.
The point is, this post was a stretch. It wasn’t hacked IRL at all, it’s just some dopey protesters. I cannot express how sick I am of politics in unnecessary places. Etiquette is dead, and both sides just sit there pointing fingers at each other acting like buffoons not realizing what tools they look like.
I can’t speak for Sonic, but I have been denied work for not being a Christian on two occasions. (They were crappy jobs, and I didn’t want to make a stink about it, and I didn’t really know how to make a stink about it at the time, so I walked out a little miffed and found other crappy jobs.)
On another occasion, someone was kicked out of my high school marching band because she refused to play the Christian music that the band director felt was appropriate for a high school football game.
I’ve also been screamed at, threatened, and treated like I was an animal by Christians. I can’t honestly count how many times I’ve been told that I was “going to Hell” because, basically, I happened to be walking by a Christian screaming at everyone on the street.
Do I think that’s all Christians or even the majority? No, but that’s the most public face of Christianity that presents itself to the “non-believer”.
But then I don’t even see a “teabagging for Jesus” sign in there or see any anti-Christian comments made by the original poster, so either you’ve got MUCH better eyesight than I do, or you’re trying to make an issue where none exists.
Inside Joke wins at everything forever.
i second that win. everyone who was ever an oppressor in the history of this country stands a 99.999999999999…% chance of being a christian. however, not the point of this post. also, if you spend enough time on the internets, doesn’t everyone look like a tool to you at some point?
To John M:
What makes tea bagging for Jesus funning is the other definition of tea bagging. Google it.
Or just trust me that is it is a weird sexual domination practice.
Funny, not funning. I guess God is punishing me!
Really? You need a paragraph to explain the second one!?
The site isn’t making fun of the viewpoints of the people, only the irony fails in the signs. If you don’t find humor in politics, scroll down to the next picture. I found these pictures hilarious, even though it wouldn’t be shocking to see myself protesting right along side these people(holding a grammatically and logically correct sign, of course)
*sniff* I smell tea in the room…
Radda radda radda I’m right and you know it radda radda radda right wingers stop complaining radda radda radda just go to church or some other stereotypical conservative activity radda radda you suck radda radda radda radda.
How was that?
I just cant believe peeple would protest AGAINST universal health care. Selfishness to the extreme, its just insane.
Some people are against it because it’s unaffordable. Especially in this economy. I agreed with you when I was 12 but I have grown up since then and realized you can’t just continue printing money and expect everything to just work.
As for this stupid post, I agree with the other 2 ‘tea baggers’, there is no reason to bring politics into a site that is supposed to be funny. People having signs that are written wrong are not ‘IRL Hacking’ they are just stupid people. Also, just because you can find stupid people in a crowd doesn’t mean all of that crowd is stupid. God, if you could judge an entire group by a few choice people you found in it people might actually think all liberals were intelligent…
competence (noun) – the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.
Example: Calling the President’s competence into question but spelling that same word incorrectly shows a lack of competence on the part of the sign holder.
hypocrisy (noun) – the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform.
Example: People who support Medicare but call universal health care socialism clearly do not understand the hypocrisy of their own actions.
failure (noun) – lack of success.
Example: Attending a protest but not spell-checking your sign first is a rather large failure. Not as large, though, as the failure of everyone else in the crowd to notice and tell her.
irony (noun) – a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.
Example: All of the above.
Again, why are these funny? To me, showing me these pictures just make me annoyed. I want funny, not politics!! If politics were funny, Mrs. Clinton would be doing stand-up.
Nice definitions, though. Still not funny. Ho hum.
Maybe because you’re extremely boring and you have no sense of humor?
The adjective ‘ironic’ is severely overused to describe situations that are not ironic at all, e.g. all three of these. Situational irony describes an event that is poignantly in contrast with the expected event. The qualifier of ‘often amusing as a result’ is a by-product of culture and not part of irony’s definition.
1) There is nothing unusual about a stupid person questioning the stupidity of others. There is also nothing unusual about a protester misspelling a word on a sign. Finally, someone’s inability to spell at an appropriate time does not take away their ability to judge their president’s inability to govern.
2) I am fairly certain this woman is not being hypocritical, just ignorant. More importantly, while it is easy to mock the fact that Medicare is a social program, it is designed to help a specific group of people who are likely unable to acquire health care of their own. Social or universal health care would affect many, I would posit a majority, who could easily pay for their own health care. This system would certainly either detract from those on Medicare or increase debt. Perhaps this woman cares deeply for her assisted-living parents.
3) Yes, a failure. Yes, mildly humorous. No, not ironic.
the “irony” quote is a Carlin reference.
also, define “easily pay for their own health care.” do you know how hard it is for someone with a degree to get a job anymore, let alone get the degree, go to a good high school, or not be in poorer living conditions white middle-class americans are willing to acknowledge?
Universal health care is affordable if we pull out an old trick from thr 1950s: progressive taxation. If you earn more, you pay more tax. Top bracket was 91%, IIRC. The money went to pay for things like interstate highways and national defense. Mary Astor’s quote “Money is like manure; it works best if it’s spread around” applies here. Let too much money concentrate in one spot, it clogs up the system. (Yes, I know Mary Astor was talking about philanthropy, but bear with me.) Mexico is a perfect example: lots of money, lots of industry, lots of economic potential, but outside of the major tourist areas and big cities, terrible public services and a lousy economy. Taxes are unevenly enforced. There’s not much of a middle class; you’re either well-off or dirt poor. The US has a middle class primarily because of progressive social legislation, including graduated taxation, Social Security, and financial regulations.
And answer me this before you start deriding me as another brainless liberal: Medicare is a government-provided service. How does the government provide services without revenue?
“The US has a middle class primarily because of progressive social legislation, including graduated taxation, Social Security, and financial regulations.”
Given that the middle class in America arrived before any of those things, you’re quite obviously wrong.
“And answer me this before you start deriding me as another brainless liberal: Medicare is a government-provided service. How does the government provide services without revenue?”
Medicare is an insurance provider. It operates the way all insurance providers do, by collecting the premiums.
Except, with Medicare, they take those insurance premiums and buy bass boats for all the managers.
(Not really, but buuying bass boats for everyone would be more productive than what they actually do)
anyone notice the link dosent work
Idiots. After 8 years of Bush/Cheney and now they get angry? Racists.
Do you know what racism is? While you look that one up, Google ‘hyperbole’. It seems appropriate for so many posts in this blog.
If I remember correctly, people were pretty ticked off when the Clinton administration were trying to pass a version of universal health care. Were these same angry people racist then? I wonder about your logic with your racist comment.
“In layman’s terms, Medicare is socialism since it’s controlled by the government. Sooo, you’re advocating socialism, but only for you.”
Which, of course, is national socialism… I’d like to see that person’s reaction when someone explains to them that he/she is a nazi.
Quick lesson in politics 101: Medicare is gov’t delivery of a service, not gov’t control of the production of goods. Also, there are other options besides Medicare for obtaining medical services. Therefore, by your own definition, Medicare does not equal socialism.
The sign was accurate.
You were wrong.
Have a nice day.
Medicare is an insurance provider.
Medicare “taxes” are, in reality, insurance premiums.
If an evil private corporation took a lifetime of premium payments, and then, years down the road, decided to withhold benefits, these liberal idiots would be screaming and running to another Michael Moore movie.
But when government decides to screw you, well that’s OK!
“Waaaaaah! Conservatives aren’t in charge anymore! Waaaaaaaaaah!”
the problem with this post is no one hacked those signs, it may as well be posted on the Engrish site, or Failbooking….IE, who ever posted completely missed the point of this website
I thought this site was funny until we got here. Rich H pretty much explains it.
As for Tabby, the Conservatives haven’t been in charge since Reagan. Hint: Tea Partiers hate Bush too. Not sure if you know this, but most Conservatives are NOT Republicans.
Marie: how much are YOU volunteering to spend for MY medical care? I mean, I make more than you do… but my age cohort needs more care, dammit, and we’re a big block of voters.
Shell it out!- at least 30% of your paycheck, if Canada and England aer examples It’s for Obama, so you won’t mind paying for my Viagra for the next thirty years… right?
You do know England pays only 10% more tax than America right?
UK- Tax as percentage of GDP = 39%
US- Tax as percentage of GDP = 28%
It’s hardly a world apart now is it?
Also how much are you willing to pay to treat my dads stroke? Or my cousin’s kidney dialysis?
Ya get what ya give buddy.

I’m a conservative. I’m with the people who think this post is stupid and should never have been made. If the pictures were there by themselves it would be okay, but the politically-charged paragraphs supporting a liberal agenda went too far.
Anyone who says that I would think it was funny and wouldn’t complain if the post supported a conservative agenda is 100% right. In face, I would probably be in here telling all the outraged liberals it was just a joke. Why point this out? If a ref makes a bad call in favor of my team, I don’t complain, but I’m enraged by the opposite situation.
As people have been saying, this is supposed to be (I thought) a site for people to relax and laugh at stupid jerks. While I don’t mind discussing politics, it’s not what I came here for, and this post has charged me to do so.
Now for the political part: it really bothers me when ‘Conservative’ and ‘Christian’ are linked, and ‘Christian’ is treated as one giant heap of people who blindly do the same thing and think they’re better than everyone else. I’m also a Christian, but I would never judge someone else for their beliefs, condemn them, or discriminate against them. In fact, in my opinion, anyone who would do such a thing is not acting Christian and is not a representative of Christianity. It’s sad that many people immediately get a certain opinion about another person because of their personal beliefs or values. Did your views of me change between reading my first and fourth paragraphs?
“Now for the political part: it really bothers me when ‘Conservative’ and ‘Christian’ are linked, and ‘Christian’ is treated as one giant heap of people who blindly do the same thing and think they’re better than everyone else. I’m also a Christian.”
Hilarious!
Believe it or not, many conservatives are not Christians.
I agree, politically slanted posts shouldn’t have a place on this site. I might change my mind if there was an equal representation of stupid liberal protesters (which I’m sure there are plenty), but it doesn’t even attempt to be neutral. I come to this site to be entertained, not to feel like my political views are being mocked.
“Dont steal from medicare to support socialized medicine” LMFAO
These photos barely bother a mention. If you want to see some really scary/hilarious protest signs, go to zombietime.com
Change is always going to upset people. Being from a Nation where Health Care is free its difficult for me to grasp what the big deal is, especially when Americans (Well not all of them) seem more than happy to spend trillions of dollars on war.
